Our quintessential boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the city was the very first in the Hotel du Vin family, This charming Georgian building with 24 bedrooms and suites is just moments away from the awe-inspiring Winchester Cathedral. Like Hotel du Vin Poole, the ever popular and established Bistro du Vin continues to delight guests with classic French dishes and long standing reputation for excellent service. It also hides away a surprisingly large ‘secret’ terrace perfect for wedding parties and celebrations.
The Role
We are strengthening our sales team on the South Coast and looking to recruit a sales superstar to support the hotels’ sales strategy in the design, delivery and monitoring of all aspects of day-to-day sales activities.
The role will be a fully proactive one across both of these beautiful hotels, working closely with the M&E teams, driving Food & Beverage sales, increasing Wedding revenue, networking in the community, managing a small portfolio of corporate accounts and engaging in local outreach; business and social. You will also be supporting National Accounts to win 24hr business and promote our new Corporate Retreat packages. You’ll also be the champion for Social Media, looking at ways to engage with the local community and further afield, to raise awareness and increase engagement,. Supported by the central marketing team you will work together to come up with new ideas to help drive business into all areas of the hotel, aligned with local event calendars and collaborations.
You’ll be generating enquiries and helping to maximise conversion, whilst showcasing our fabulous hotel and services at every opportunity. Making great experiences happen for our guests will be your top priority, doing whatever you can to ensure they get the top-notch service they deserve, every time.
This is advertised as a part-time role and is predominantly Monday to Friday, with weekends and evenings as required for special events. We are looking for candidates who can divide their time between Poole and Winchester with 2 days a week on site at each hotel. This is not a remote working role.
You will (ideally!) have…
· Proven Sales Experience: in a successful sales role, preferably within the hospitality or food and beverage industry
· Sales Expertise: demonstrated ability to drive sales and meet/exceed revenue targets through pro-active sales strategies and strong negotiation skills
· Industry Knowledge: sound knowledge of the hospitality industry, including an understanding of bar and restaurant operations, culinary trends, and customer preferences
· Relationship Building: excellent networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong connections with clients, industry professionals, and potential business sources
· Communication Skills: exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver persuasive sales presentations and effectively articulate the unique selling points of our bars and restaurants
· Self-Motivated: self-starter with a high level of motivation, enthusiasm, and a pro-active approach to generating new business
· Team Player: ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Results-Oriented: strong analytical skills and a results-driven mindset, with the ability to track sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and adapt strategies accordingly
· Flexibility: willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client meetings, networking events, and promotional activities
