Role: Sales & Events Manager - Malmaison
Salary: Up to £34,000 plus Bonus, Generous Company Benefits, Training & Development
At Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, we are incredibly proud of our boutique brands. We combine historic, beautifully converted buildings with luxury accommodation, exceptional food, and highly creative event spaces. We don't just host events; we deliver memorable, bespoke experiences.
We are on the lookout for an accomplished, proactive, and collaborative Sales & Events Manager to join our team. If you are a skilled relationship-builder with a commercial mindset and a genuine commitment to the food, wine, and hospitality scene, this is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact.
What you’ll be doing as Sales & Events Manager:
As our Sales & Events Manager, your main mission is to maximise revenue, achieve and exceed financial targets, and proactively drive catering and food & beverage (F&B) sales across all areas of the property. Working hand-in-hand with our Cluster Sales Manager, you will:
- Drive Catering & F&B Revenue: Be the champion for our meeting spaces, private dining rooms, bars, and restaurants, actively seeking opportunities to drive food and beverage spend.
- Local Market Networking: Engage with the local community to build brand awareness, identify exciting new leisure and corporate event opportunities, and secure our fair share of the local market.
- Be Social: Support the promotion of our meetings, private events, dining, and bar offerings on local social media channels, engaging with the local community to generate brand awareness and inbound inquiries.
- Convert Enquiries into Extraordinary Events: Manage, negotiate, and seamlessly convert inquiries for meetings, private events, and weddings.
- Deliver Flawless Planning: Create crystal-clear event documentation (Function Sheets/BEOs) and collaborate closely with our on-property operational teams to ensure every event is executed to perfection.
- Build Lasting Relationships: Act as the primary, professional point of contact for clients from the initial inquiry right through to post-event feedback, securing repeat business and high levels of customer satisfaction.
What we’re looking for:
- You have a proven track record in hospitality sales, event coordination, or F&B business development, ideally within a boutique or luxury hotel environment.
- You are a confident negotiator with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to convert inbound leads.
- You have a strong commercial understanding of catering sales, menu upselling, and bar/restaurant revenue drivers.
- You are warm, approachable, collaborative, and self-motivated. A strong appreciation for wine, hospitality, and food-matching trends is highly valued!
- Experience using Opera Sales & Catering (or similar hotel PMS/sales systems) is a massive plus.
- Hospitality operates around the clock; you are adaptable and open to working flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evening dinner services to support major events.
