About the Role

Role:  Regional HR Advisor - South
Salary: Competitive Salary plus Generous Benefits
Location:  England - Field Based / Remote (travel across the SOUTH of England required)

We are looking for a Regional HR Advisor to join our People & Culture team, supporting our fantastic hotel teams across Malmaison and Hotel du Vin.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you'll be the trusted HR partner for our Hotel General Managers and Heads of Department to provide pragmatic, commercial advice that helps our hotels and people thrive.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same. If you enjoy building relationships, solving complex people challenges and making a genuine difference to the employee experience, we'd love to hear from you.

Your region covers 19 hotels through the Midlands, South West, South Coast, Home Counties and London. While it's a large geographical area, you won't be expected to spend your life driving. We encourage travel by rail wherever possible (fully expensed and at no upfront cost to you), with most of our hotels located close to major stations. Better still, you'll have the opportunity to dine and stay in our beautiful hotels while travelling.

What you'll be doing as a Regional HR Advisor:

  • Build credible, trusted relationships with our hotel leadership teams, providing balanced advice that supports both our people and the business
  • Coach and develop operational leaders to build confidence, capability and consistency in people management and HR best practice
  • Confidently challenge and influence people management decisions where appropriate, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes
  • Manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters from start to finish, using our case management system Workpro, ensuring accurate documentation and process capture
  • Support managers through difficult conversations with empathy, professionalism and sound judgement
  • Ensure all properties receive HR contact or visits as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve people management practices and work with hotel leadership teams to raise standards through coaching, training and practical support
  • Actively seek to improve employee engagement through supporting engagement activities and our employee forum ‘Your Voice’
  •  Promote an inclusive and diverse work environment for our teams

We're looking for someone who is:
  • Experienced in managing a varied and high-volume employee relations caseload, ideally in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Able to build rapport quickly whilst remaining calm, objective and professional in emotionally charged situations
  • Confident influencing, coaching and constructively challenging managers at all levels
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and balancing changing priorities and deadlines
  • Calm and resilient when dealing with challenging situations
  • Organised and able to manage multiple competing priorities without losing attention to detail
  • Commercially minded, balancing legal risk with practical operational solutions
  • An excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills
  • Flexible and happy to travel regularly within the region
  • Hospitality experience, particularly within hotels, would be an advantage
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or willing to work towards this - we'll support you)
  • Experienced in using an ER case management system

What this role is really like

This is a busy operational HR role where you'll manage a varied workload across multiple hotels. One day you could be coaching a manager through a complex employee relations issue, the next travelling to one of our hotels to deliver training, support a leadership team, or help drive employee engagement initiatives. The role is field-based and you’ll maybe be away from home one or two nights a week but on the other days you can work from home, or one of our hotels.

You'll need to be comfortable making decisions, handling sensitive conversations, and providing clear, balanced advice - even when it's not always what someone wants to hear. In return, you'll join a supportive People & Culture team that genuinely works together and gives you the autonomy to make a real impact.

You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy working at pace, solving varied people challenges and building strong relationships across a diverse hotel portfolio.

Why join us?

  • Work with two iconic hotel brands
  • Hybrid working with flexibility around travel
  • Be part of a supportive and collaborative People & Culture team
  • Enjoy genuine variety - no two days are the same
  • Stay in our beautiful hotels while travelling
  • Receive support to develop your HR career, including CIPD study support
  • Make a real difference to the experience of our people across the business
  • We're a down-to-earth, supportive team who work hard, laugh often and genuinely enjoy what we do. Hospitality HR is fast-paced and demanding, and we believe HR should be practical, people-focused and make a real difference to our hotels every day.
