About the Role

Front of House Manager, Hotel Du Vin

Rate of Pay / Hours: £35,000 / 45 hours
Type of Contract: Permanent position
Location: Malmaison Reading

Be the face of our hotel, get paid for doing what you love, enjoy fantastic perks and benefits, learn something new every day and build a career for life with Hotel du Vin.

Are high standards second nature to you? Do you love working with people and making guests smile, knowing you've delivered exceptional service every step of the way? Do you want to be part of something different, working with a brand you'll be proud to represent?

As Front of House Manager, you will lead and inspire our Reception team, ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome, a seamless stay, and a memorable farewell. You and your team are the first and last people our guests interact with, setting the tone for the entire guest journey and ensuring every visit exceeds expectations.

Working with Opera Cloud, you will take ownership of the day-to-day management of the Front Office operation, driving service excellence and maintaining the highest standards across the department. Previous reception management experience within a hotel environment is highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of guest service, operational efficiency, and team leadership.

You'll be confident in all aspects of people management, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and developing your team to reach their full potential. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, inspire confidence, and create a positive and engaging working environment where individuals can thrive.

A natural problem-solver, you'll be comfortable handling guest queries and complaints professionally and efficiently, always striving to find solutions and turn challenges into positive experiences. You'll also have a commercial mindset, identifying opportunities to upsell rooms, packages, and hotel services while encouraging your team to maximise every guest interaction.

This role requires someone who is highly organised, able to prioritise tasks effectively, work independently, and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions are essential.

We create memories that our guests will never forget, and as Front of House Manager, you will play a key role in making that happen. This could be the ideal next step towards a Senior Head of Department position within Hotel du Vin. We actively encourage internal development and progression because we believe in growing our talent from within. Onwards and Upwards.
