The design of the hotel takes inspiration from the city’s industrial heritage and brutalist architecture, mixing concrete and moody elements with softer textures and confectionery touch points, drawing on York’s famous alumni including the Rowntree and the Terry families. As a city, York has always had so much to offer; from it’s Roman and Viking roots to the cosmopolitan city it is today. Situated on the corner of Rougier Street, the hotel is a stone’s throw away from some of the city’s most famous attractions, including York Minster, York Castle and the historic city walls. The River Ouse are both a few minute walks away, with the Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, York Art Gallery and the world-famous university a short walk over the bridge.

About the Role

Role: Food and Beverage Manager, Malmaison

Rate of Pay: Competitive Salary, plus TRONC, Generous Company Benefits, Training & Development

Type of Contract: Permanent / 45 hours per week

Location: York City Centre

In this role you’re a real organiser, who loves leading and motivating your team. As Food and Beverage Manager your role reports into the Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the day to day operations of the Restaurant, Bar and Work & Play (function) areas.

You will also be required to work closely with all department managers in people management, finance and budgeting, sales and revenue management. You will be expected to ensure that our guests receive amazing hospitality at all times, that all staff are able to deliver service exceeding guest expectations and enhancing the guest journey at every opportunity.

You will have previous experience in management with a sound knowledge of food and drink in a similar sized property. Food and Beverage Managers must have excellent communication skills, be a team player and enjoy a hands-on role. You must have passion for hospitality and deliver service with a smile.
